Dr. Jay Summitt

Dr. Jay Summitt is originally from Tallahassee. He completed his undergraduate work at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and received his DVM from Ohio State University in 1978. In 1979 he moved to Thomasville, Georgia and became owner of Thomasville Animal Hospital. After selling this practice, he began practicing in Tallahassee where he has remained since. Dr. Summitt is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association and the Big Bend Veterinary Medical Association. He is the proud father of 2 children and a member of First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville. Outside of work, his hobbies include equestrian sports, fishing and physical fitness as well as travel, food and wine.

Dr. Lynda Thabes

Dr. Lynda Thabes is from Leeds, Alabama and attended Auburn University for undergraduate training as well as vet school, which was completed in 1989. She lived and worked in Nashville, Tennessee from 1989 - 1995, when she moved to Tallahassee. She is member of the FVMA, the BBVMA and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. She attends the Co-Cathedral of St. Thomas More and is involved in several organizations, including the Down Syndrome Association of Tallahassee, the District Advisory Council for Exceptional Student Education as well as other local disability awareness and advocacy committees. She shares a home with her husband, 4 children, 5 cats, 1 dog, a rabbit, 2 rats and a hamster. She is an avid college football fan and also enjoys music, needlework, and sports and is currently training for a black belt in Taekwondo.
